Identity Crises

Knowing who you are and your worth in Christ as a believer is very important because it determines your way of life (speech, actions,thought) on this earth.
Yes, by the sins of our Grandparents Adam and Eve we all became sinners by birth.
Man continued to sin and every action of man became evil and therefore fell short of God’s glory. (Romans 3:23)

We became slaves to sin and bounded in every way by it but even in our worse state, God still loved us and made One without sin(Jesus) to be sin so that through Him we might be redeemed.

So now the good news is if you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior, you are moved from the kingdom of darkness(death) into His marvelous Kingdom of light(Life).

The bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that,
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

This scripture tells us that once we are in Christ, we have been given a new identity and it is that of a royal.

As Galatians 4:7 rightly puts it,
Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

No need going round searching for answers because,
Colossians 2:10 says;
and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

When we receive Christ in our hearts we are made complete… No human can complete us but Christ Jesus.
Jesus Christ is the head of all principality and power therefore once you have him, there is no need roaming for protection and some other(unnecessary) things you want.
He is a complete package, whatever we need now and will ever need is embedded in Him.
Our homes are thereby connected to the power plant(The Holy Spirit) 24/7 and never runs out of fuel and so all we need to do is to plug into that power source whatever appliance we wish to use at the moment and switch it on.There is none greater than Him.

By God’s grace we now sit together
in Christ Jesus in heavenly places
that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.(Ephesians 2:6-7)

Sometimes the devil tries to come at you with all the things you did in the past but be rest assured that you have been saved by the precious blood of Jesus.
And His death caused the veil of the temple to be torn in two from top to bottom and therefore, brothers and sisters, we have the confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:19-24)

Know that, Your past is of no relevance when you accept Jesus, press on!
let us now boldly enter the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Finally i leave you with this;
For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.1 John 5:4

Prayer
Father in the name of Jesus, thank you for your mercies and the gift of life.
I am indeed very much grateful for favoring me. Forgive me of my errors against you as i forgive my debtors.
Wash me lord, that i may be clean.
Open my eyes, that i may see
Wondrous things from Your law.
I am a stranger in the earth;
Do not hide Your commandments from me. Take away all blind folds so i see clearly what you have done for me through Christ Jesus.
Thank you father for making your ears attent unto my prayer, in Jesus’ name have i prayed with thanksgiving, Amen.

  1. Another good one, Pap! Just one thing…you said “When we receive Christ in our hearts we are made complete… No human can complete us but Christ Jesus.”

    We know what you meant, but Jesus is no longer human, which is how this read to me. Just wanted to quickly point that out.

    You do such a fine job here. Get the younger group interested in Christ…they need Him just as we all need Him!

    Take care,
    Steve 🙂

    1. Thanks Steve.i really appreciate your comments everyday.
      And God bless you for that.
      I really understand your point, yes some will think in that direction too but my meaning to that is yes, Jesus is God not human and so once you receive Him you receive a total package but some people have the mentality that human beings can complete each other like someone will tell the girlfriend or wife but the truth is humans complement each other, it is only Christ who is God makes us complete. There will always be missing pieces of ourselves without Jesus😊.
      Thanks once again Steve.
