It is time for a Faith check

real

Have you undergone a health check lately?

Well, as your health is imperative to your body functioning well, so it is with faith in your Christian walk. Do you still remember that you are a spirit being living in a body?

Just in case you have forgotten, this is a reminder of what faith is.

Generally faith is simply having trust or a strong belief in someone or something.

Every one possesses some kind of faith, not only Christians, but even atheists have enough faith in their intellect to say that there is no God.

Faith per the biblical definition in Hebrews 11:1 is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Wow!

This is so wonderful, i pray that the Holy Spirit will grant you reading this post a deeper understanding as you read along.

First of all faith is an essential element for every Christian. You cannot be a Christian without this tool because you must practically walk it (2 Corinthians 5:7), speak it (2 Corinthians 4:13), Act it (James 1:22) live it (2 Corinthians 5:7) and you will see and have life (John 20:31).

Faith is not blind as some people make it seem, it does not give us false hope, and it is not about hoping so but knowing so. Faith is not an illusion but based on something tangible.

Faith can be held (Ephesians 6:16), it can be picked up like how you pick up money from your pocket to purchase goods.

As one cannot claim to be a farmer without having a farm, you cannot be a Christian without faith. Faith, like a farm is the place we plant our seed, harvest, and sell our produce but where the farm is situated, is paramount to how your hard work will yield.

Faith is vague unless it is accompanied with action just like a piece of land cannot be termed a farm until it has crops or animals on it to proof what it says it is.

Finally, I see faith as the confirmation of things we are expecting like the sms notification you get when someone sends money into your mobile money or bank account. Even though you have not physically seen the cash the notification settles your hope, it makes you rest assured that you have money even though you have not seen it.

Stay connected  as we delve deeper in our subsequent posts this week.

God bless you all.

Prayer

Father in the Name of Jesus, thank you for this day, please forgive me of any sin committed against you that my prayer will get to you. Today I have learnt about faith and I ask that you will check me up and take away my unbelief that I will see your marvelous works in and around me. I open myself up to receiving more from you. Thank you Father for making your ears attent unto my prayer in Jesus’ Name Amen.

Seeing faith as an sms alert is a brilliant analogy! It’s definitely going to boost my hope in the fact that though I do not see it yet, it will come to pass. Because hardly do you get the alert without the money being in the bank! 😀 God bless you for sharing this. It’s very timely! 🙂

I have realized that Faith can change things powerfully. Only if we have faith, we can move mountains. I have myself experienced and explored my own capabilities when I had faith in me. Thanks for such a lovely post.

  7. Praise God, I wish I had enough faith as I could be needed. I pray that I may die for the Lord when the end of the world comes — I think dying for the Lord is perhaps the greatest way to die.
