Sometimes when i sit down to think about the goodness of God, it just amazes me. it is simply Unfathomable for one without sin to be made sin for the sake of worthless and sinful beings if not for love.
I just remain speechless and deep in thoughts. Sometimes i do feel handicapped because i know nothing i have can measure up to what he did for me on the cross.
Therefore every moment of my life, i dedicate it to worship the Love of my life.
Just follow me as i draw this picture in your mind…
In the days of Moses there were so many limitations and restrictions pertaining to worshiping God. With the strict and merciless justice offered by the law, we were still in chains, and we needed more than animal sacrifice to make us whole.
Things became more of a ritual than a hearty exercise in those days.
The worship of our Maker was limited to the confinements of a temple(structure).
The temple was the place where animal sacrifices were carried out, and worship, according to the Law of Moses was followed faithfully. Hebrews 9:1-9 tells us that in the temple a veil separated the Holy of Holies—the earthly dwelling place of God’s presence—from the rest of the temple where men dwelt. This signified that man was separated from God by sin ( Isaiah 59:1-2). Only the high priest was permitted to pass beyond this veil once each year (Exodus 30:10; Hebrews 9:7) to enter into God’s presence for all of Israel and make atonement for their sins ( Leviticus 16).
But for the love of God, Christ was used as an atonement for sins ever committed and the ones yet to be even recorded.
His death caused the veil of the temple to be torn in two from top to bottom signifying that now the way into the Holy of Holies was open for all people, for all time, both Jew and Gentile.
When Jesus died, the veil was torn, and God moved out of that place never again to dwell in a temple made with hands ( Acts 17:24).
In a sense, the veil was symbolic of Christ Himself as the only way to the Father (John 14:6). This is indicated by the fact that the high priest had to enter the Holy of Holies through the veil. Now Christ is our superior High Priest, and as believers in His finished work, we partake of His better Priesthood. We can now enter the Holy of Holies through Him. Hebrews 10:19-20 says that the faithful enter into the sanctuary by the “blood of Jesus, by the new and living way which he opened for us through the veil, that is, through his flesh.”
He was the veil to the Holy of Holies, and through His death, the faithful now have free(unlimited) access to God.
The veil in the temple was a constant reminder that sin renders humanity unfit for the presence of God and so there was a need to permanently get rid of that.
The fact that the sin offering was offered annually and countless other sacrifices repeated daily showed graphically that sin could not truly be atoned for or erased by mere animal sacrifices. Jesus Christ, through His death, has removed the barriers between God and man, and now we may approach Him with confidence and boldness (Hebrews 4:14-16).
And now, our bodies have become the very temple of God, the dwelling place of our Holy God!(1 Corinthians 6:19)
Wow!! isn’t this just awesome?
We go into the temple anytime through Jesus and He speaks to us directly at all times. The death of Jesus was much more beneficial to us(women) because in time past we were less regarded and unworthy of leadership positions and much more, but the blood broke such barriers and now even me(Priscilla Benewaa Ocran)Papberry, i am being used as a vessel in this arena to showcase God’s glory!
Where ever you are just enter into the temple and begin to thank God for his goodness even in your sin, he never stopped loving you.
Ask Him to forgive you for failing to regard his sacrifice of love.
Now just bless the name of God so long as possible, i believe deeply that God will meet you at this point if you give him a hearty worship. Let it be all about Him today, his love, mercy, kindness, faithfulness, sovereignty, holiness.
Today is not a day for personal gains(things we need from Him).
Let your love for God overflow to the point where it is not just a feeling in the heart or mind but it begins to explode and overflow to where you begin to express it without shame or fear.
Just magnify His name for indeed He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords.Glory to God!
