Topic: Do it Right
Main Text: Proverbs 16:3
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans”.
It’s the last week of the year 2016 and I know by now lots of people have got tall list of resolutions for the new year and others have probably given up on things as such ’cause they barely fulfil a quarter of that list yearly.
This day I am here to tell you that, it is not about the number you have on your list. The most important thing is to critically analyze yourself(seen and unseen) know your strengths and weaknesses and draw something very realistic and achievable, but also make room for adjustments.
I know a lot of people have Philippians 4:13 as their theme but take note of this, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me shouldn’t be considered plainly. I say this because there is a need for a personal assessment before applying this scripture to any part of your life.
God has given us abilities based on our carrying capacity and how well we can effectively utilize those abilities. This means that, you cannot just get up one day and say that people are fetching money from boxing so since things are not going well for you in the path you find yourself currently, you will try that.
My dear, you will die before your time because you don’t have the capacity, not to even talk of passion for it.
Look deep within you, there are lots of things God has placed in you to help you live a purpose driven life else you will just be moving wherever the wind carries you like a vehicle with no brakes because you have no purpose.
As we enter into the new year, find that one thing and pursue with all your heart, persevere when you face obstacles and once you move pass it you will see the light or the sign that directs you to your destination.
Make Matthew 6:33 your anthem and whatever thing you are pursuing will do extremely well.
Don’t fix God around your schedule rather fix your schedule around God. Give Him first place to be God in your life and He will withhold no good thing from you.
Finally there are few significant things I want you to take note as we enter 2017. 2016 will be handing over perfectly to 2017. 2016 ends on a Saturday, the last day of the week and 2017 starts on a Sunday, the first day of the week.
The number 1 means unity, togetherness, oneness… and 7 is perfection.
Somebody get ready because things that have grown apart(relationship, the church, family, marriage, staff, nations) are about to get back together, God is putting everything back together perfectly like it should be, so now you can rest in His provision.
Welcome 2017 with a positive attitude to receive what has been prepared for you, work hard and watch God do the rest.
Father, thank you for today and my life. Please forgive my sins as I forgive others.i pray for greater grace in the coming year, make your ways clearer and plain to me so I can walk in it to the required destination. Thank you Lord for hearing me in Jesus name, amen.
