Topic: Let your deeds speak right
Scripture: Acts 2:46-47
“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved”.
According to Acts 2:44-47 something profound happened, after the Holy Spirit came upon the people.
It was not only by the words the apostles preached that men drew to Christ but by their deeds also.
People at that time saw the kind of bond, oneness, happiness and comforting atmosphere that existed between the followers of Christ.
What kind of bond exist between believers now?
One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is Love and after the people had received the Holy Spirit and began speaking in different tongues, they also manifested the fruit of love.
They committed themselves to the teachings of the apostles, they lived together as one body, they ate and prayer together most often. They made sure that everyone’s need was met by putting their resources together for a greater good.
And everyone who saw this was amazed, because of the manifestation of the great love they had received.
And as they praised God people generally liked what they saw and everyday their numbers grew as God added those who were saved.
This means that the apostles and the people that believed lived a life worthy of emulation and by that people got saved.
You see, you might be the only bible some people will ever read so make sure your lifestyle can literally win souls for Christ even without speaking.
Also sometimes you just have to show your love by catering for someone’s dire need, who knows you might not only be saving his current situation but you could win him over for Jesus.
1. Thank God for today, your life and this word.
2. Ask for forgiveness of sins
3. If you find it difficult to show love to all, pray that God should put his love in your heart, so you can give it out as He gives.Ask that he rekindles the fire dying in you.
4. Thank God for an answered prayer in Jesus name, amen.
