Today’s Fragrance : Where Lies Your Strength?

What’s been on your mind lately? Have you been stressed physically, emotionally or even spiritually causing you to forget God’s presence and power. Why not pause and recall His promise with me as we dig into His Word.

Scripture Reading : But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isa. 40:31)

Sometimes when we give our all in certain situations and it seems like our efforts have been in vain, the first thought that crosses our mind is to leave it there, just give up!. statements like ‘I’m tired’ ‘I can’t fight anymore’ ‘There’s no way out’ becomes our daily bread. But hey, are we sure that’s the best food for us?

How easy it is for us to forget that in every situation “[the Lord] gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak” (v. 29)

We need to understand that, it is our positive confessions that sink into our nothingness giving God room to work and to reveal Himself to us in our weakness.
God desires from you and I, utter dependence and total trust in Him. For In Him alone do we find strength, nothing human.

The widow’s mite is an economic picture of His strength being made perfect in us. She had nothing – so that He could provide everything. This is one of the most difficult lessons for any Christian to learn – sometimes we want to thrive on independence so we run around doing everything including the Work of God ( things that only God can do) and have all the load on our head. But we need to realize that it is only when we submit to His training and instruction, will His strength be made perfect in our weakness.

We must realize that there is no virtue of strength in us but all rests on the Almighty and that we need Him to survive.

No matter what is making you feel weak and scared, remind yourself, “The Lord is my helper: I will not be afraid.” He is bigger than any problem or circumstances. God is willing and able to make you victorious. Shalom!
