Scriptures: Colossians 3:1-3; Philippians 2:5
As we learnt before, setting our affection or mind right is setting it in the place God has put us—in Christ at the Father’s right hand with the “mind of Christ” (1 Co. 2:16).
Therefore, Philippians two verses five says “let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus…” You’ve got to let your mind be that of Christ’s; not God nor the Holy Spirit to do that for you. Contextually, the writer talks of humility and obedience although one is endowed with all power and is a royal priesthood, just as Jesus is exalted by God so are we when with humility and obedience we stay in our calling.
Hence, “this that hurts me”, “this that annoys me”, “this that causes me to boil in anger” put it away from yourselves and put on patience, kindness, forgiveness, humility, selflessness as one who is in Christ and whom Christ lives through.
Therefore, beloved, “be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Rom. 12:2). This is our way of unveiling Jesus to the world.
Stay your mind on Christ. Shalom!
