“But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” (John 10:5)
A LOT of Christians now are facing lots of problems because they are following Strangers yet they claim they are being led by the good shepherd. The reason being that, many do not know the good shepherd, they cannot differentiate His voice from the many other voices speaking to them.
So, they keep taking instructions from the wrong places and when nothing seem to be happening, they go to church and throw blames on God for not answering their prayers yet when He spoke, they did not hear in order to fulfill the demands of the call. They rather listened and obeyed the wrong instruction.
For a believer to enjoy all that has already been made available to him in Christ, He must know Christ personally, how do you intend to enjoy something being provided by someone you do not know? How would you even get access to those things if you aren’t close to the owner? How is a branch supposed to get all the necessary nutrients for growth when it is cut off the vine?
How is it possible to enter into a Kingdom, and expect to enjoy certain privileges without knowing the King? Will you even as a man entrust something of yours to a total stranger?
It is about time we got intimate with the Lord, know Him for who He is and not what we can get from or out of Him.
The only way not to be led astray by someone else through deception is to know your shepherd’s voice, that means intimate relationship.
There is no relationship without communication. You get intimate with the Lord through prayer and the Word, as you give yourself to the study of His word and unto prayer, you will begin to know Him better as He reveals himself to you even more progressively. As you communicate, you become familiar with His ways, and how He speaks, what his likes and dislikes are, things He wouldn’t ask you to do and things He would, making you to understand His ways even better.
Draw closer to Jesus and enjoy the sweetness of intimacy with Him, it is far better and beyond all the sweetness of this world put together. It is the unlimited fellowship with the Father that brings the richest, deepest joy into the believer’s life. Sonship without fellowship would neither satisfy the heart of the Father nor the heart of His child.
Don’t be deceived! Shalom!
